BOSCH: India Changers Design Competition

Entry by: Ankita Lahiri, FVC, NID and Ratul Bhowmik, PD, NID.

This project was made as part of the India Changers Design Competition held in collaboration by BOSCH and NID. The brief was 'Improving Public Amenities in India' and we chose 'Drainage' as our Issue with 'SUSTAINABLE SEGREGATION' as the Entry Title.

The Entry got Honourable Mention by the judging panel.

Revamp of Indian Railways Passenger Reservation Enquiry site

This is a self initiated project where we have tried to revamp the Indian Railways Passenger Reservation Enquiry site. This is how it originally looks http://www.indianrail.gov.in/

 

Like many others we have often felt that the site needed a better interface along with better looks. After all it is an Indian Govt. website and people use it all the time.

We have tried to keep as much originality as possible & have not done anything too lateral & drastic. The colour palette is close enough & we have kept most of the information available on the site with space for advertisements, news and other such stuff.
The main changes are:

• Giving the PNR STATUS a complete new space on the website instead of a tab.
• Making a tab for HOME as the website did not have a proper HOME button.
• Making the search more flexible and instant thus decreasing the cognitive load and mental fatigue.
